Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!!!! Today has been filled with running, parades, and in the near future, food. Yesterday, Stace asked me if I wanted to run the 5 k for the Freedom Festival and after learning that it would be 30$ to sign up this morning, we decided to just happen to be running the same route at the same time as the other hundreds of people. We just hopped right in, ran the 3.2 miles, and hopped right out. Nothing like starting the morning out with a nice run... After we finished, Stace headed to work (sorry dude!) and I headed to sit with the fam at the parade. We have been going to the parade ever since I can remember, so even though it is becoming more and more lame/boring because a) you get see things like Brent Brown and his 5 2008 Toyota Tundras drive down the road and b)they don't throw out a single piece of candy, I feel like I HAVE to go, all in the name of tradition. Besides, who would miss the four F-16's and C-135 fly-over? Definitely the best part and it is one of the main reasons I keep going. It's nice to have traditions. Next year, we're going to see if we can get the Siebach Tractors as an entry. Now THAT would be worth watching. :) Despite the lameness of the majority of the parade, I love the 4th of July... prolly because I love the USA. In Europe, I loved seeing new places, cultures, and experiencing new things, but it made me love America even more because I gained a better appreciation for this country and the values it stands for. That is not to say that everything that the leaders do is perfect, or even that I agree with everything that occurs, but the fact that I CAN disagree is a great blessing, one that many people in this world do not enjoy. Hooray for America!

I'm going to try to post the video Ron took of our PA parade...the Provo one will look amazing in comparison. I'm with you - going to the parade is tradition. Glad you had a fun day!
