snap, crackle, pop

the moment i felt the snap and pop (not to be confused with the bend and snap), i knew something was wrong.  sliding into home during a kickball game is not supposed to feel like that.  i prayed it wasn't what i thought.  and then it was.

"it's definitely broken," says the urgent care dr.

can't say i've ever wanted to hear those words before, especially in reference to my ankle.

now i know why.

it means 4-6 weeks on crutches and/or boot. (modified by orthopedist. see above)

it means no running, which in turn means no marathon/Wasatch Back.

it means pain.  lots of pain.  (name that movie!)

you know, sometimes life just likes to knock you on your ass.  really. hard.

at least we won.

Yes! At least you won! (I don't know the other movie reference, but I like the Legally Blond one)

There will be a blessing in this somewhere, I'm sure of it. Come home and we'll look for it :)

Sorry about your injury. I hope it heals quickly and the pain isn't too bad. I feel your pain in my partially torn MCL. The cracks and pops are part of the risk we get to play, but there are so many rewards. You'll be back!
