Disappointment

This weekend was full of college basketball, but I have to admit, I'm coming out of it a little disappointed. It was not the best weekend for my teams... all of them lost. Texas lost to Kansas in the Big XII championship, Duke lost to Clemson in the ACC semifinals, and BYU lost to UNLV in the MWC championship. 0-3. Not the best record. And to make matters worse, North Carolina won the ACC tournament. Grrrr. Good thing there's the NCAA tournament so my teams can find redemption. I shan't give up hope.

I watched "No Country for Old Men" last night with my Sars and April. One of the main characters, a psychotic serial killer portrayed by Javier Bardem, is so disturbing and evil it's unreal. I'm just glad I didn't have nightmares about him last night. But overall, I thought it was a great film, very disturbing, but excellently directed and the actors were fantastic. From what commentary I've read, it's a pretty accurate depiction of the drug trade in west Texas during the 80s, which makes it even more disturbing that situations similar to those portrayed in the film actually happened. Anyway... great film... dark and evil, but good. I can definitely see how it won Best Picture.
